Retro

I love retro things. Not complete retro, as there is definitely some stuff I can live without, but in general, I like referencing, or simply stealing, fashion ideas from the bygone era. Of late I am particularly into the '60s. It might be all the Star Trek I have seen lately, but I am really into ultra lounge fashion. Ava Choo indulged me by putting out their Pucci shoes, which are bright and loud, as you can see. And yes, I am looking for toenails and finger nails in SL, so leave comments with suggestions.
These shoes led me directly to Carnaby Street, in SL and the Mondrian dress. Adding in a flirty bob (more '20s than '60s) gets you this look:

5 days since tax day

Five days since Tax Day and I have been travelling again. This time to Nevada to be an emergency bridesmaid. I suppose that having a career was important enough to me that I put it before other things in my life, but really, when friends get married I am a little sad. Why have I not taken this plunge? Am I too rational to do it? Or am I too demanding of the men I meet. I have an RL attraction to women as well, and I have thought that my bisexuality might have something to do with never committing to a man, but then I have never committed to a woman either. It is more that the sort of impulsive moment of romance that precipitates a marriage has thus far eluded me IRL. Of course I still hope....

I did get on SL a couple of times this week to see my girls and update my wardrobe. It has been a sort of impulsive and extreme period, with a good solid commitment to pink:

The hair was a freebie given to me by Viv, and the dress is from AW Design. They also made the shoes. This is more pink on my body than has ever been there before, and it is sort of an interesting feeling. Its shocking to me, but pink really does make me feel girly.

Here are the heels, aren't they awesome?

Tax Day

Two weeks into april and I have nothing to say for myself. I spent ten days in South America for work, whihc was a good thing and then came back to tax time, and dealing with the accountant. I finally finished the damed things and I am taking some time off to go shopping tomorrow as I am desperate for underwear and, of course, high heels.

I have not even logged in to SL, so I do not have any photos to show this post. I had promised something about Russian fashion, and I will get there. But for all who care I am alive, and missing the SL experience. So show up in world and IM me. Or take me shoe shopping.

Well another period of silence elapses, as I spend a weekend with my cousin in Palm Springs doing mostly nothing but some RL shopping. I am a huge fan of Russian designers, and sometime I simply must do a blog about why.

I am taking the cheating way out today and doing an outfit post. I really should do these in flickr, as I enjoy photo diaries there. But this is me today (and last night!):

Hair: Maitreya; Dress: Maitreya; Heels: Maitreya

I love these heels. Of course in this picture, you cannot see the red soles (a shame, they are cute):
